Women in ICT: What the Community Is Saying

Why are fewer women entering tech in Ireland?

TUWN’s Women in ICT Poll (2025) gathered insights from across the country and beyond, the message is clear: women face persistent barriers to entering and thriving in tech, including lack of early exposure, limited mentorship, and gendered industry culture.

But there’s also hope. Respondents suggested solutions like:

  • More visible women in tech campaigns
  • Stronger mentorship networks
  • Accessible training opportunities
  • Early encouragement in schools

While most respondents aren’t currently working in ICT, many are interested — highlighting a strong pool of untapped talent.
